About This Patriotic Project!

Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory is a project being introduced into communities that will provide patriotic collection bins in convenient public locations for tattered, faded and torn American Flags to be deposited.

The American Flags will then be retired ceremoniously in a dignified and respectful manner by members of the Boy Scouts of America, the Girl Scouts, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Izaak Walton League and other select service groups.

The official start date for the Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory project was May 2011.

Join This Patriotic Project!

Become an Old Glory Bin Location or Sponsor.

We are looking to expand the project into other communities to give residents and businesses convenient locations to drop off their old flags.

To move the project forward bin locations and bin sponsors are needed to purchase the bins with the patriotic graphics and message

You can be a Retire Your Old Glory bin location and sponsor your own bin or you can be the bin location and recruit a partner from the community to sponsor your bin.  There are two locations on the bin that are available for sponsor advertising information.  The sponsor areas are 3” x 14” and are prominently located on the side panels of the bin.
