June 10th – 20th, 2019 – Erie Insurance, Erie PA
Erie Insurance celebrated Flag Day by hosting their 3rd Annual Retire Your Old Glory collection in the lobby of the headquarters in Erie, PA.  Employees deposited their unserviceable flags to be retired.  61 flags were collected! Cake and ice cream celebration was held on Flag Day to celebrate!

July 1st – 31st, 2018 – McGuire Memorial, New Brighton, PA
McGuire Memorial held a special collection event July 1st through July 31st. They collected 110 flags. A flag retirement ceremony and patriotic celebration was held on August 10th at McGuire Memorial’s main campus in New Brighton, Pa.

July 16th, 2018 – Moraine Trails, Camp Agawam, New Castle, PA
Many thanks to the day camp program at Camp Agawam for retiring 1,000 flags for the Retire Your Old Glory project.  

June 12th – 16th, 2018 – Erie Insurance, Erie PA

August 3rd – 2017 – Moraine Trails, Camp Agawam, New Castle, PA
Many thanks to the day camp program at Camp Agawam for retiring nearly 1,200 flags for the Retire Your Old Glory project.

June 13, 2017 – Upper St. Clair Flag Retirement Ceremony
American flags collected as part of Upper St. Clair’s participation in the Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory project will be retired on June 13th – 7:30pm at the fire circle behind the recreation building at 1770 McLaughlin Run Road.  The retirement ceremony will be conducted by Upper St. Clair Boy Scout Troop  #366.

June 10, 2017 – Fredericksburg, Virginia Flag Retirement Ceremony
June 10th at the Izaak Walton League of America Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park, 12400 Herndon Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22553.  The ceremony will start promptly at 10:00 am.  The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from the Mattaponi District will participate.  Boy Scout Troop 835 will lead the ceremony.

May 2017 – Welcome New Location
Ebensburg Borough Building, Ebensburg, PA.  Proudly sponsored by the The American Legion Post #363 and the Ebensburg VFW Post #4963.

June 18th at the Izaak Walton League of America Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park, 12400 Herndon Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22553.  The ceremony will start promptly at 10:00 am.  The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from the Mattaponi District will participate.  Boy Scout Troop 835 will lead the ceremony.

May 31, 2016 – Northland Public Library Flag Retirement Ceremony
Flags from the Northland Public Library Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory bin will be retired on May 31st, 7:00 pm at the Flag Retirement Plaza in North Park.  Boy Scout Troop #171 will lead the ceremony.

September 16, 2015 – North Park Flag Retirement Ceremony
Flags collected at the Northland Public Library Retire Old Glory location will be retired on September 16th.  Allegheny County Council, in conjunction with Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, will pay homage to and retire United States flags that have become worn and unserviceable flying in service to our country. They will also remember the events of September 11, 2001.

September 11, 2015 – Flag Retirement Ceremony
The Brothers of Epsilon Tau Pi and members of Crew 1912, will be performing a flag retirement ceremony beginning at 6PM in honor of the lives lost on 9/11/2001. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be conducted in the Rogal Family Chapel.

August 22, 2015 – Flag Retirement Ceremony
Flags from the Northland Public Library ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin will be retired by Boy Scout Troop #53 of Penn Township.  The ceremony will take place at the Penn Township Community Days.  Thanks to Troop 53 for providing the service of retiring the flags.

August 6, 2015 – Cranberry Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
Flags from Cranberry Township’s ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin will be retired by the Boy Scout of America as part of the week long day camp activities.  The ceremony will be held at Camp Agawam, New Castle, PA.    The ceremony will be led by representatives from the National Guard.

July 18, 2015 – Northland Public Library Flag Retirement Ceremony
113 flags from the Northland Public Library ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin were retired by Boy Scout Troop #83.  The ceremony took place at the Heritage Reservation in Farmington, PA.  Thanks to Troop 83 for providing the service of retiring the flags.

May 23, 2015 – Charlottesville, VA
In honor of Memorial Day, members of Boy Scout Troop 93 will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony. Members of the community are invited to bring their unusable U.S. flags to the Stony Point Ruritan, the flags will be ceremoniously retired in a flag retirement ceremony at 4pm on Saturday, May 23, 20152835 Watts Passage Rd. Charlottesville, VA 22911.

April 21, 2015 – Upper St. Clair Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
100+ American flags collected as part of Upper St. Clair’s participation in the Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory project were retired on April 21st – 7:00 pm at the OREC Building on McLaughlin Run Road.  The retirement ceremony was conducted by Upper St. Clair Boy Scout Troop  #366.

November 18, 2014 – Upper St. Clair Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
American flags collected as part of Upper St. Clair’s participation in the Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory project will be retired on November 18th – 7:00 pm at the OREC Building on McLaughlin Run Road.  The retirement ceremony will be conducted by Upper St. Clair Boy Scout Troop  #366.

November 8, 2014 – Fredericksburg, Virginia Flag Retirement Ceremony
The second annual retirement ceremony for American and Virginia flags collected as part of Fredericksburg participation in the Retire Your Old Glory project will be held on Saturday, November 8th2014 at the Izaak Walton League of America Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park, 12400 Herndon Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22553.  (Map) (Directions)

The ceremony will be hosted by the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League and flag retirement will be conducted by the Boy Scouts of America Scout Troop 835 and other Boy & Girl Scout Troops in the Mattaponi District Area.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 and is open to ALL US military veterans, active duty personnel and to the general public.

August 9, 2014 – Upper St. Clair Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
150 flags from the Upper St. Clair Township ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin were retired by Boy Scout Troop #366.  There were 19 Scouts, 5 Scout Leaders and a few parents in attendance.  Thanks to Troop 366 for providing the service of retiring the flags.

June 26, 2014 – Cranberry Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
1500 flags from Cranberry Township’s ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin were retired by the scouts attending day camp.  The ceremony was held at Camp Agawam, New Castle, PA and took place during the week of King Beaver Day Camp activities.    The ceremony was lead by representatives from the National Guard.

November 9, 2013 – Fredericksburg, Virginia Retirement Ceremony
Over 200 flags will be retired on Saturday, November 9th at the Izaak Walton League of America Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park, 12400 Herndon Road, Spotsylvania, VA  22553.  The ceremony will start promptly at 10:00 am.
IWLA & NCAC Mattaponi District Boy Scouts Retirement Ceremony Outline

June 10th – July 10th 2013 – Erie County, Enter to Win an American Flag that has flown over the US Capitol!
If you retire an old flag or are interested in the Retire Your Old Glory project you can enter to win a 4′ x 6′ American Flag that has flown over the US Capitol.  The Old Glory bin can be found at the following locations – Erie Times News Lobby, Millcreek Municipal Building, Fairview Township Municipal Building and the Erie Maritime Museum.  Entry forms are available at each site and can be deposited during regular business hours.  The drawing will take place on July 12, 2013 and the winner will be notified by phone. (No need to retire a flag to enter.)

June 28, 2012 – Cranberry Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
The 1400 flags from Cranberry Township’s ‘Retire Your Unserviceable Old Glory’ bin were retired by the Boy Scout of America.  The ceremony was held at Camp Agawam, New Castle, PA and took place during the week of King Beaver Day Camp activities.    The ceremony was lead by representatives from the National Guard, PA National Guard HHB 1st 107th FA – New Castle.

June 18, 2012 – Upper St. Clair Township Flag Retirement Ceremony
Upper St. Clair Township retired 40 flags at their first ceremony.  The ceremony was held at the Boy Scouts of America  Heritage Reservation, Farmington PA and conducted by Boy Scout Troop 366, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair Township.  The troop is led by Scout Master, Rick Diffendal and Senior Patrol Leader, Louis Collins.  The scouts organized the ceremony themselves as part of their merit badge and advancement requirements.  The scouts also used the grommets from the flags to make lanyards, a lanyard was presented to each scout and scout leader.  The ashes from the flag ceremony were buried at Heritage Reservation under the camp flag staff.
